The re-cultivation of landfills has started
2011. August 19.
The contractor has started the re-cultivation works in Bordány, Üllés and Zsombó on the first week of August. We organized a news conference for this occasion in Bordány on last Wednesday, where the media delegates had the possibility to meet with the leaders of the contributing organizations and to discover the local landfill with Tamás Beke S., the project’s technical supervisor.

Gábor Tanács, the Mayor of Bordány is interviewed
There will be complete re-cultivation in all three settlements. This means that the waste will be organized onto a smaller area, it’s surface will be compressed. The next step will be to create a top layer which will keep the rain away from the compressed waste and reduce the environmental damage. After this, soil 1 meter high – rich in humus – will be placed on this hill. The process ends with grassing and afforestation.

In August, works will start at 8 more settlements: Algyő, Baks, Forráskút, Mórahalom, Ruzsa, Szatymaz, Pusztamérges and Zákányszék.
The re-cultivation of 27 landfills in 26 settlements is supported by the European Union with 2,79 billion Forints – the settlements don’t incur any expenses during the project. Our company is responsible for the project’s communication duties.
