POS Printing

Our POS system is a shared and authenticated web application, used to manage the POS orders of warehouses, and print the orders of the warehouses in a central press.

The application has the following extra features: sharing of digital documents between warehouses, full user and warehouse management, price zones, data security and data verification.

The data can also be imported through modules with a web interface - not only product data, but batch import through each modul of the application.

One of the most important parts of the application is a FLEX (client side) and Java (server side) based POS template editor. Any template can be created and edited inside the WYSIWYG editor. We implemented a formula-editor that can be used to create formulas with logical, numerical and text operators.

The interface features scheduled activation of templates, managing, importing, exporting templates, moving objects inside templates, and preview them with test-data.

Technologies used:
- on the server side: postgreSQL database, Apache Tomcat web server, Java, iText, Apache web server, PHP with self-developed C extensions (TemplateParser and Hyphenation), PDFLib
- on the client side: FLEX, JavaScript jQuery library
The communication between the client and server side is XML-based.
